Default Good By For Now Cobra Exhaust

Yesterday I yanked my Cobra speedster extra long exhaust off my bike,
and reinstalled my quiet stock pipes. I love the deep but quiet notes
that come out of the 05 mufflers, but here is the problem now I can
hear all of the clinks, clanks, and clunks, as well as the ticks, pings,
and rattles, that I've never heard before. All this time my bike has
been making these noises I guess, so I guess it's not hurting anything,
but the noises sure are ugly. Its anybodies bet how long I can stand it
till I knock the baffles out of the mufflers to make them a little bit louder.

Wish I could do that! My '07 Deluxe (bought used in 2012) has Reinhart pipes. At first I liked the sound, but lately it's really starting to bother me. Even wearing earplugs, after riding for several hours I have a headache. If I could find a stock setup I would go back! Actually, I have found a couple of sets of stock pipes, one was too beat up, the second was at a ridiculous price. Still looking, though...

I'd probably give somebody cash to come to my house and get rid of the three sets of stock Harley pipes I have on my garage.

Lol! I sold my stock pipes when I went to the Python Throwbacks. I really like(d) the looks and the sound was pretty nice too just the volume eventually became too much. Quiet baffles, ear plugs, etc to no avail. I just recently switched to the Supertrapp Supermeg where both performance and volume are adjustable. Right now I'm using a combination which seems to have incredible performance and a volume that is music to my ears while still having the sound that makes us all turn our heads when the throttle is opened!

Well I tried to knock the baffles out this morning, but that did not happen.
My next plan of action is shooting a few 44 mag rounds through the center
of the baffles, I guess six rounds through each muffler, ought to get the job done.

To me the stock mufflers sound really good after you get some miles on them! I did take a steel rod and open up the exit hole on the left side muffler , seems like it helped a little with out making it sound bad. I took my bike to an Indy once and when I picked it up it sounded funny, he decided he would gut my mufflers, I rode it for the weekend, sounded like crap!!!! He gave me a new set of stock mufflers to put back on, they sound good after some miles.
