Copied and pasted from The MoCo's Screamin' Eagle Book. Pretty self explanatory to me. My dealer says not a problem on their part. However, if HD knows or some other dealer black flags your VIN.... up the creek without a paddle. Now, with that being said, I did the stage one and the HD pro race tuner (crossed flags) at 2k miles less than 30 days old. As for fighting with MOCO, I can not afford and suspect people on here don't have deep pockets like the HD company. Sooooooo let your mind be your guide.
My road glide is well "out of warranty" now but when still covered I had warranty work done with all the mods listed in my signature as well as running S&S 107" jugs.
Granted I have a sort of understanding with my local dealership and warranty work wasn't on the motor.
I think I will just go with the FP3 since the SE Street Tuner pretty much could void warranty. Doesn't really matter at this point, I'm not waiting 2 years to do mods. I will reflash back to stock if there really happened to be a problem and hope for the best.
I think a lot of the warranty issues are very subjective. Of course it's up to the dealer and warranty guy.
When I bought my '13 Ultra Classic, before it even left the dealer, They decatted my header pipe, put on RC slip-ons, high flow A/c and a SERT.
I asked abt the warranty...they said "no problem".. Of course if anything did happen, I'd have to go back to them. Another dealer may think otherwise...
If the tuner you are speaking of has a "caution Light Icon" it is 50 state street legal. If it has "Crossed Flags" it will have warranty implications. Make your decisions and enjoy.
Was told at dealer today and by Custumer service at Harley that even a harley race tuner will void power train warranty have 2015 road glide special and was ready to have jackpot head pipes and exhaust installed when I was told
