Question Shocks, shocks, shocks !!! ...

Wow... there are so many threads and shocks manufacturers and models
Do we have to spend and buy many of them before we finally get what we want.

What do you ride and what shocks you're running... and are you really happy or...

For me, I changed the stock shocks for 11.5 inches Progressive 912, but still not what I want for comfort. I will change for sure, but there are so many options!

I changed to Shotgun Shocks in the rear, but they didn't give me confidence over rough surfaces when going hard into corners, so I'm back on the stock ones again. Switched out the front for Progressive monoshocks though, and are so far very happy with those at least.

I switched to Ohlins and haven't looked back. I have ridden other bikes with Progressive shocks and they didn't feel as good as mine does.

I only bought one pair of shocks, after much reading here and elsewhere. So you're missing a poll option.

I bought 13" (1" taller than stock) Hagon Nitros in Apr. I think for their price point, I have no complaints.

I voted "Think I'm happy but still look for something better".

The grass is always greener side of me contemplates full on Ohlins with piggy back reservoir, preload and dampening adjustments.

Can't really say for sure if those are worth the money? But I can say I went with the #2-#2B Ohlin shocks and for us riding 2up and loaded to the max they work just fine for us. Great in fact! I absolutely hated the Progressives I put in before that. I even sent them back to factory to get them resprung. Sold them for the money I had in them on ebay, and for an extra $100 I had the Ohlins on their way.

That is the only negative thing I've ever read about SS...

They make the Shotgun Shock for baggers now. You can make 'em roll like a Lexus or stiffer than stock. Lifetime warranty. Exemplary service. Yes, they are expensive, but once you got 'em you're set for LIFE!

A lot of people go thru exactly what you have posted in your poll just to avoid the cost of the SS. They go thru many they don't like and by the time they get thru two or three less expensive ones they've already gone over what they would have spent on a SS. Something to think about...

Very content with the stock air shocks on the Limited and was also happy with the stock air shocks on my Road King too. Seems to especially work well when fully loaded on trips.
