Default 110 stage 1 vs. stock

What is the advantage of stock CVO 110 vs. 110 stage 1 properly tuned with exhaust. I am not an HP junkie or anything. If this makes a more reliable, cooler running engine with a bit more HP...=WIN!! Other than that..what else? Thanks

You'll probably get Dyno numbers all over the place from people that have done stage 1 on their CVO's. I've seen people post numbers of 110HP and 120 TQ with just a stage 1. Stock is 85HP and 100 TQ. I have Fullsac Xpipe, 2" Fullsac cores and TTS Matertune. My numbers are 98HP and 109 TQ. The engine definitely runs cooler. I get an overall average of 40MPG.

A "Stage 1" upgrade on the average, no matter what motor, will give you an increase usually of about 8-10% hp & tq.

Get away from the 255 cam that is in it and maybe slip a .030 head gasket into it..
As some very knowledgeable people have said in another thread the 110 is a cam and some compression away from running real strong.
The 255 can be made to work but they are all bottom, hard to tune and create to the high heat problem.

Mine has tune, full exhaust and cam, runs cooler and seems to have increased gas miles. I also notice while traveling in a group, times where the other guy's on CVO's drop down a gear i am just rolling the throttle but that could just be the difference in rider habit.

The OP's original question concerned a stock 110 vs. a "Stage 1" 110" motor, not any thing with upgraded cams which ups it into a "Stage 2".
