Default Heel to toe shifter, don't get it.

Anybody else dislike the heel to toe shifter? I have been riding from the mid 80's, never had a bike with a heel to toe shifter till I got my Ultra Limited. I tried it, I really did, just could not get use to it. I ended up removing the heel shifter.

I hate it as well. I found it felt awkward shifting and Id catch my heel on it when bringing my foot back up after a stop

Like mine on the EG. Don't miss it on the FXR.

Love it, the first bike I had with one was a Moto Guzzi after that I'm on my 4th Harley 2 have had a heel shifter 2 have not. My next bike will be an Indian Vintage and the first thing I will add to it will be a heel shifter.

I have gotten used to it and beginning to actually like it. Maybe it's an age thing.

Lots of riders do just this.

Everybody has their preference. I grew up riding metrics and Harleys and to this day ride both. I wouldn't have a heel/toe on my sport-tourer, and I wouldn't be without a heel/toe on my Harley touring bike. For me, no problem moving between the two. I have found the riding style differences I employ make each one seem appropriate for the bike I'm on that day.

Some people like them. I really tried to like mine. But as was mentioned in an earlier post, I occasionally got my pant leg caught on the heel shift, and couldn't lower my foot to the pavement at stops when I wanted to... a definite safety hazard. I never dropped the bike because of that, but came close once or twice. Ride on, to all my brothers and sisters than like 'em... but I hate them!
