Default Harley Auction

On average about 5 Harleys are repossessed every month in my city most of them are Harley Breakout and 1 out of every 5 are Sportsters !!!

I went to an auction with the wife today most of these babies are modded to the max, we've been thinking about getting another Breakout but they do not come with warranty

Are they allow to auction these bikes and sell it to you without warranty? I've never bought anything from auto auction before could someone please give us some details about warranty from auction yard?

If these vehicles are for sale at a "salvage auction", the manufacturer will void all factory warranty.

If these vehicles are sold at a "dealer auction" the lack of warranty is not necessarily the factory warranty is voided, it's just the selling party isn't offering it with an auction guaranty.

You can preview the vehicle, call a dealer and find out if the factory warranty is still active.

If you know your toys are about to be repossessed, would you still baby them or beat the living crap out of it because you won't have to pay the repair bills?

Most states have a requirement of a 30 day warranty on vehicles not sold by a private seller even if they state vehicle is being sold as is with no warranty.

You can also buy a warranty from a third party.

If the bike is still under MoCo factory warranty and you are NOT getting a salvage title, the factory warranty can be transferred to a new Owner.

Of course, the laws may be different down under. I'd check with H-D in Oz to see about transferrability.

These sound like repo sales, not wrecks. Not so sure if a salvage title goes with that. Laws do vary though.
