Default What's it worth 97 Road King 89" stroker

So I had some issues with the lower end and the motor is being completely done over to a 89 stroker with everything new. Cam, lifters, s&s carb, ect. Bike has 63k on the clock. I may end up selling after the shop is finished with the motor to fund another project but what would a relistic asking price be? Bike is very very clean with all upgraded peices like signals, dash cover. New chrome pieces on engine primary transmission. Any feed back on current used pricing?

It's ultimately worth what another person is willing to pay for it. that said, in our area, I think in the spring it's a $7000 bike, right now maybe $6250

You know what they say, there's an *** for every seat. Your competition would be bikes that are about 5 years newer with super low miles for a little over 8k. My guess is that the 6250 would be an OK price if somebody is willing to pay it.

Your best selling point is the recent engine work. It won't add any real monetary value to the bike, but it will make your bike more likely to be the one they choose over all the other sub-seven grand bikes. Keep the reciept and wave it around like a flag to potential buyers.

Truth is, once a motorcycle approaches that 20 year mark, its almost better to just keep the thing rather than give it away. Or try to at least trade it off for another vehicle that some poor schlub dumped his life, love, and wallet into, that HE will never be able to sell for what he knows in his heart it's really worth.

NADA in my zip is $3940 low retail, $5185 high retail...if the cases have been changed and don't match the VIN, it is not worth that.

I'd keep it, too. Late Evo, 89" stroker. What's not to like? Not gonna bring enough money to make it worth selling (were it mine) & that 89"s gonna move that big girl down the road with authority.
