If you ever want to advance beyond "Stage 1", the 110 has better heads but I believe the spigots are unique, precluding boring the cases easily for larger bore cylinders. For a daily rider with more potential, I'd go 110. You also get cruise, I believe...and maybe a couple of other minor features. My brother is looking at a new bike soon and I'm strongly influencing him to go Softail Slim S; for him and his style it would be perfect.

I have a "full stage 1" with dyno tune on my 103 and its great, but I also did a couple Test Our Metal events this summer and the 110 feels faster, accelerates harder. so if I could turn back time knowing what I know now... I probably would've gone for a 110 off the start.
Everything can be built bigger, better and faster but it really comes down to how far you want to take it. Do you want to get into big bore kits, cams and heads? or just bolt on exhaust, intake, and tune then ride it?
