I'm impressed! He didn't really need advice, was decisive and best of all he didn't "pull the trigger"

2nd bike is a Custom build around all new Harley parts except the frame. It uses a 1200N Nightster engine and transmission, But its only got rear brakes..Its an amazing looking bike. its $8,500

FWIW, RevTech products are pretty much the bottom of the barrel. A bike with a salvage title would sell for more than the same bike with a RevTech engine. The Ultima trans isn't very well regarded either.

An $8500 Custom Sportster with no front brake seems like even a worse choice. It's insane riding with no front brake. When you go to re-sell either of these bikes, I doubt that you can get more than 50% of what you spent. The seller is totally delusional to even suggest listing it at $12k

Sorry to be so negative, but I would personally choose either of these bikes. $8k to $9k gives you a lot of choices on nice bikes. I'm 100% certain that you can do a lot better for your money.

But that's just my opinion.

Edit: LOL, oh well, I see I was too late.

I understand this is just your opinion. After plenty of research you my be right about the bike with the Revtech engine and non Harley parts. But i totally disagree with you with the Custon Harley built bike i chose. Its a beautiful bike that was Custom built by LedSled Customs out of Dayton Ohio. All the parts used are of the highest quality. And this bike is amazing in person. Just the seat alone is an expensive hand tooled custom piece of art. Clean internal wired handlebars. It has it all. And lets keep it real the 2009 1200N Evo engine used is one of the most reliable Harley engines out! As far as just having a rear break thats an easy fix if it becomes a problem. Ill just take it and get a front brake installed.

I completely agree with you that the 1200 Sportster engine is a great, reliable engine. I had one for a short time and it was very impressive. I beat the living piss out of that thing and it just asked for more. And as long as you're happy with your purchase, that's all that matters.

Regarding the lack of a front brake, waiting to "fix it if it becomes a problem" might be too late. You're missing 70% of your stopping power. That just makes me cringe, and I'd personally get on that "easy fix" immediately. Your call though.

Either way, it's a good looking ride, congrats and enjoy it.
