With all due respect to the OP's fallen friend, "ABS taught me bad habits" sounds like a convenient excuse to me.

I should have recognized the injured party. Speedy recovery to them.

"...used to ABS"? There's nothing to get used to. And just hitting the front brake in a hard stop? That's stupid. He should stay off bikes till he knows how to ride.

I would say that it was 100% the fault of ABS.

.....unless there were a few boiler makers involved in the equation. Then I would have to reduce the fault to 98% ABS.

Technology replaces skill sets. ABS, traction control, Cornering control on sports cars...Drive or ride an older one like you drive / ride your newer one and you risk hurting yourself, unless you know what you're doing beforehand.

I would think from a purely business standpoint you'd be AGAINST ABS.

Less broken bones

With this in mind, the asphalt is just as hard whether the bike has ABS or not.

Wait until self-driving cars become commonplace. No more drivers licenses?

I said this a couple years ago and got laughed at. As my vehicles get better at driving themselves, Some of my skills have diminished. Heck, My new pickup has so many things on it so you don't have to know how to drive anymore. Driving skills are not improving with all these gadgets on todays cars. ABS on bikes are no different.

Loud Pipes saves lives, ABS doesn't save lives...Isn't that what you're trying to tell us ?.

O.k. sorry about my typo, stupier or stupider lol you got my idea of what I was asking. Person in front of him slammed on brakes for no reason, he did same I guess ( also, it was wet out) not that makes for an excuse.

( I bet more people will click on it because of spelling error though.)
