Default dunlop E3 vs Dunlop american elites

Anyone running E's or american elites? Anyone think one is better than the other or running 1 of each on their bike. I have a E3 that came on the 21'' wheel that I bought, was told American elites was a nice tire, but then was told by JP cycles not to run different tires. Anyways, anyone have experiance wuth these tires

I have an E3 on the front of my heritage classic and an American Elite on the back. Don't have a lot of miles on it yet, but so far no problem. I ran an E3 and an Avon Venom on back for years and was a good combination. I still wish Avon still made the Venoms.

I was running E3s before I switched to the Am Elite this Summer on my RK. So far I like the Elites. Haven't wore them out yet so I can't speak for longevity but so far so good.

I can't see what it would hurt to run one of each. If I had linked brakes I would think twice about putting a radial in front and bias on the rear but that is only based on my experience trying it on an auto, it gets squirrely at sudden stops.

I've had a number of sets of the AE over the 70,000 miles I've put on my Ultra. Great tire and much better than the standard D408/407 that was OE. I get about 15k on the rear and about twice that on the front.

I've run with both and you can't go wrong either way. I'm getting better mileage on the rear for sure with the American Elite. I've heard the E3 is being replaced. I don't know that as fact. Good Luck. JR

Had to replace the factory Dunlop's after 9k and got the AE's (front and back) on, they seem to be a better ride, and handled fine in the Black Hills in August.
