421 the Snake.
Rode the snake the other day on my RK. It can get tiring, better suited for my long gone '05 Bonneville. There are some bad patches of pavement on the Shady Valley end, but the best part is that there is very little traffic. Lots of curves with changes of elevation thrown in.

A link to a good site for the area. You can download maps. I have picked up a hard copy fold out of the map at a local dealer.

I don't even do the Tail anymore. Great technical road, but unless you can run it midweek, just too crowded for my taste now. Lots of others are just as fun in the area.

I've been to that area 1 time and Maggie Valley seemed to be a good place to start off. And, we're staying right across the street from Joey's - which wasn't on accident. lol
