Wink Searching for a single rail motorcycle trailer

I am currently researching/shopping for a small, single rail trailer to haul my 2010 Dyna Super Glide. A couple of models have my attention, the Kendon folder at around $2,500 new, the Stinger at $1,899 new and the Drop Tail folder around $2,400. I like the ability to unload and fold them up to relatively small packages.

Naturally I would love to find any one of these used at a good price and there seems to be a few out there (Craigslist), though they tend to go quickly. Does anyone have any experience (or similar recommendations), with these? Pro's/cons? I will be towing the SG behind my 24' Class C RV extensively. Planning a cross country trip for this fall and my neighbor may use it to haul is bike back from the east coast.

I have 5,000+ miles towing experience with my old (much lighter BMW R80 RT), on a trailer that is just too small for the SG. All input, good or bad gratefully welcomed.

I would suggest a 2 or 3 rail trailer. Once your friends/neighbors/family finds out you have a moto trailer, then dirtbikes, moto "rescues" will be yours to enjoy...

I used one of the earlier generation Kendon 2-rail trailers for a long time. Kendon is very solid. I now have an Aluma. Very light weight, but doesn't fold up.

Default Stinger folding trailer works well

We purchased the Stinger folding trailer for a couple reasons...storage space and function. During the winter it's kept in a corder at the front of our garage. When unfolded, it's a pretty simple process to load the bike and tether it for transport behind out 2017 Escape. With a total weight on 1000 pounds, the pull is effortless.

Stinger trailer pulled by Escape.

Had a single Kendon was nice to stand up and roll out of the way . Used it one time went to tenn. had to park on a slanted driveway and take he bike off which wasn't bad but putting back on was trouble . That's when I thought why am I putting a $18000. bike on a $1500. Trailer . Got rid of that and bought a Aluma . Much better trailer bought it second have like new for the same as I paid for the kendon .

You make an excellent point. A quality trailer is like an umbrella insurance policy. You tend to get your money's worth of satisfaction that your investment is protected.

You could build one. I'm thinking of picking up a cheap harbor freight one up, welding all the seems on it and setting it up for 1 or 2 bikes(3 rail). By law I can't haul a bike that runs on its own but when **** breaks down, it's nice to have.

Nothing wrong with an open trailer. Unless you are towing behind a lifted truck with mud tires. I contemplated an enclosed when looking, but for a couple times a yr use and the garage floor space it would take up, nope. Bought a Dual Kendon and love it. Takes up no space, tows behind anything and cant even tell its behind me. Name: IMG_3665_zpsmq9z0frk.jpg

Just finished up making a rock guard for extra measures.

Check out these. I cant see the difference between these and the Kendons. Almost as if the same but sold under a different name, and alot cheaper. Only difference is they don't stand up and roll on casters. Nothing a welder, casters and some steel couldnt fix.
