Dealer stage 1 download? Anybody lately?
Just curious if anyone with a newer Harley went with the HD dealer stage one download when adding aftermarket exhaust and air cleaner? I had the download done years ago on my 09 NightTrain when I had Vance and Hines big shots installed. My bike ran fine but had a tone of decel pop. Im really interested in the FP3 tuner and most likely going with it. But there's just that small part of me that still thinks about taking it to the dealer and getting the download or SERT or something so i dont have to worry about warranty issues.. being that the new Harleys with the HO103 engines already come with a high flo intake i would think that there stock tune is already a little bit different then in the past? If i just went with lets say Bassani full exhaust since my 2016 has a stock high flow intake could i just get the download and be good?

The only way to avoid the possibility of warranty snags is to leave it bone stock. Even genuine Harley Davidson parts and accessories, when installed by authorized Harley Davidson technicians in Harley Davidson service bays, violate the letter of the warranty stipulations.
That said, buy the FP3. It's a very good piece of equipment, and it will let your motor run cool and happy for decades to come.

I did the fuel moto download in a customers '14 roadglide. we did exhaust (true duals, with crusher mufflers) and a PM air filter. I rode the bike and it felt really good. He rode it and called me back by the time he got home, and was in love. Said that bike never felt, and responded that well. Starts easier, and he claims even better gas mileage. You do need a power vision to do this, but you can always reload your stock tune, (the PV saves it) and nothing tell on you. The fact is, that unless you melt the motor, they aren't going to check your tune anyhow
The PV also lets you fine tune, by riding, uses the O2s to help change fuel mixture/timing tables, to an extent. In my opinion there is little substitution for a real good dyno tune thou9gh
