HD credit, credit score, and interest rate
Ok. We've got to have some folks here in sales departments in dealerships, or folks that are in the know in other ways, so here is the question.
I have:
672 credit score
2000.00 down payment
1 years solid payment history with HD credit. (on the now wrecked bike)
Will be financing 16,620 after down payment. Total bike, acc, tax, everything will be 18,620.
The question is this. At what interest rate will they let me walk.
In other words, if I tell them, hey, you get that sucker to 7.99 percent interest, or I don't buy it, will they get there??
Do I need to be higher or lower??
What rate can I get away with saying, hey, I need this rate, or no deal??

I cannot speak for Harley, but when I was selling cars a 672 would be considered average and would get an average APR, it would not qualify for the best rates.
I really do not know what to tell you because I am not sure of the ranges Harley offers

check with your credit union if you have one. If it is a new bike and you have not been late with harley even by a day. Your dept to income wont change and is close to what it was before. . you should be able to get somewhere between 7.9 and 11.9. theres alot of varibles in there. but you can negotiate but it depends, with harley you can bump up to 3 points for most people unless they are the lowest tier. but a 690 and aboves are gennerally the ideal credit score, HD fin.was 700 and above a couple of years ago. good luck. ask if they use T.A. Bank North financing they are normally better than harley for that score.

Anyone's credit score doesn't seem to matter to H-D or Eaglemark... I have a rating of over 800, and they tried to pig-stick me with 12.9%. I said not only no, but hell no, so they dropped it to 9.9%. I should have just put the SOB on a credit card... I'll transfer the balance to a 3.9% fixed rate when the right deal comes along, and I won't be buying anything else from H-D on their credit plan.
