Fair is fair. I ranted on here a few yrs ago about harley refusing to fix the frame on my low rider where the powder coating was peeling. Swore i would never buy another harley. Never say never. Ended up with a 2014 street glide. This yr i noticed a stone chip under the lip of the fender had led to a couple of "tunnels" at the tip of the fender. I had to take the bike in for a bad battery and while there i showed the service tech the tunnels. I thought nothing would happen but they ordered me a new fender. The fender was put on last week. Don't want to kiss *** but since i bitched when i thought i was screwed, I figured I should hand out kudos for making me happy too.

 

they screwed me over on a new heritage that had the tank decal sticking up and out of the clear coat. dealer called HD and they said i could have used a buffer on it. BS!

 

There's a high likelihood this thread will turn into a "Harley screwed me over by..." thread.

For the record, the MoCo never screwed me.

Didn't you notice the decal issue when you bought it? Didn't the salesman notice the decal issue at delivery? Didn't the prep guy notice the decal issue before delivery?

Decals don't just pop out of the clear coat.

 

I have an 883 tank hanging on the wall that did just that all on it's own. Never say never.

 

B-I-L has a 06' FXDL that the decal came up out of the clear coat, twice. MoCo fixed it on their dime the first time and then it did it again about a year or so later. He took it back a second time and the MoCo, not the Dealer, said that they weren't going to fix it a second time. That evidently he was doing something to cause the issue. Yeah, waxing the tank was all he ever did to it.

 

Wife's 09 street glide , bought new , about a 3 years later front fender had bubbles/peeling. Moroney's Harley replaced it free of charge. Seems at one point Harley had some paint issues going on.

 

no, no one notice it including me for week after waxing it a few times. front of decal on left tank. still have that tank hanging on the garage wall. i ended up putting 5 gallon tanks on it and having them painted to match. if you have ever bought anything at the dealer, you've been screwed and didn't even know it. i'm just telling it like it is. i was happy with my 12 streetglide except for the neutral rattle.
