Is it just me - it seems to me a bunch of dealers have changed their names from the city or owner's name to some, I don't know, historical ones? For example, Roughrider H-D, Boardtracker H-D (used to be Kutter H-D), Battle Born H-D (used to be Carson City H-D)

 

Barger HD changed ownership and they changed the name to Top Rocker HD.

 

Boardtracker for one was sold. Don't know about the others you mentioned. I'd guess many dealerships are sold in the course of a year, and several will opt to change the name of the business. I'm sure there are other reasons file name changing too.

 

OK, but there is a theme here in these names - Boardtracker, Roughrider, Top Rocker, Battle Born ....

 

Out here, Freedom Harley Davidson changed to Avalanche Harley Davidson. I don't know if it changed ownership or not.

 

Same in TEXAS,
New Owners all over.

I thought Texas Thunder was one of the all time great names. They Changed it.

 

Adam Smith bought out several dealerships in northeast Texas.

 

Here's another one - San Jose Harley is now called "Lane Splitter H-D".

 

It was sold to a New York billionaire last fall.

 

In central Texas, one man owns two Harley dealerships barely 30 miles apart; Horny Toad HD and Fort Hood HD. Horny Toad is a larger dealership.

The names changed to Horny Toad HD Temple and Horny Toad HD Fort Hood. No change in ownership.
