I have been riding for 31 yrs. For some reason my skin can longer handle a day in the sun. I lather up in sun block, re-apply, all that crap. After riding all day, i spend the next week trying not tear the skin on my face and arms off. Anyone else had this problem and found a solution? It's looking like a full face helmet, gloves and jacket no matter what the temp.

By the way, i'm not getting a sunburn. No redness just intense itching

Full face helmet, something long sleeved, either a mesh jacket or long sleeve tee, and a moisturizer. There are tons of moisturizers out there - find an avon lady with a pink harley and buy from her

Are you taking any medications? Some will cause those kinds of reactions.

Start with a tube of 1% Hydrocortizone ointment or cream. Costco cheapest for 3 tubes I think. Lube up every other day for a week. Then switch to a simple moisturizer like Lubriderm. I get this in the winter. Its usually just a dermatitis which is fancy for swelling/irritation of the skin.

I wear a long sleeve wicking shirt. It's really light weight and not hot when I'm riding...but when I stop, just a little. I'm not saying it'll help you but it keeps the sun off of me and after 5 skin cancer operations, I need something to keep the sun off. You should try wearing one.

You're asking for medical advice on a freakin' motorcycle site? Seriously? Go to a doctor, preferably a dermatologist.

You may be taking a medication that is photosensitizing. You may be taking medications that are reacting with each other. You may have developed an allergic reaction to sunlight. Yes, that's actually a thing.

In the meantime, cover yourself up when you go outside. Long sleeves, full coverage helmet, gloves. I'm assuming you don't ride in shorts and flip-flops.

Go see a doctor.

You are already complaining about skin pealing off after a successful ride, now imagine getting road rash.

A full face helmet, gloves and jacket no matter what the temp should be a given. Just make sure you are wearing the proper base layers underneath. If you need help with that, just ask on a sportbike forum.
