Default How come the rudest people so far have been other harley riders?

I'm a new rider. I have about 175 miles put on my first bike, which is a 2015 softail slim...I expected car drivers to be the biggest ********, but so far, not true. One time, just riding along at decent speed, this biker comes roaring past me, coming pretty close. Not one car has ever done that. Earlier tonight, on my way to the gym, another rider comes along side. I look over and say hey, how you doing? He just looks, doesn't say anything. He revs his throttle, and takes off the moment the light turns green...I'm sure most bikers are not like that, but it's probably the last time I will be outwardly friendly. My girlfriends seems to think it was what i was wearing. A tank top and cargo pants. I'm just not a big fan of wearing leather jackets in 90 degree heat. Call me crazy. But I don't feel like having heat stroke. Maybe these dudes resented that. But then again, I see guys riding in tee shirts all the time. so i don't get it...Maybe my size intimidated them. who knows...

Don't worry about it. Ride for your self. Be safe.

OLD 96 is right.

I've never been a part of any "group" thats 100% "nice" or even cool.

I'd be willing to be there's few rude folks even in a roomful of saints

Just be you and do your thing.

If they want to act in a manner that their mother would slap them over, that's on them. Watch long enough and you'll eventually see the rare biker in shorts with flip flops.

It's the same, no matter where you are or what you're doing.

Like, when you're in a grocery store, with your back against the shelves, looking at the opposite shelves, when someone walks in front of you. How often has anyone said "excuse me!" Not very often. People are just more rude than they were years ago. It's all about them...no you.

Just ride your ride and enjoy it. And next time, just nod at the other rider. Less effort, less lost.

Don't let what others do change your personality. Always be friendly and use your good manners regardless if it's reciprocated. And, give it a little more than 175 miles worth of experience. You'll run into a whole lot of great folks.

Stab them.
All the nice people are out about 300 miles.

I know a lot of people that ride Harleys and they aren't rude to me but then again, I do my own thing and don't concern myself with what others think or say.

Honestly I always think it's funny as hell when guys front and act all tough like that. Next time, rev back and give him the biggest, most energetic, full on goober wave you can muster up.
