Oh yes they are everywhere. And yes shooting past them with your straight pipes screaming is all sorts of fun after they decide to go back into their single file. Even more fun when they still want to ride two or three abreast. Make sure you get VERY close so you can be sure they heard you.

Some truckers "roll the coal" to express their displeasure at bicycles hogging the road. Like this video..

As a cyclist of both motor and non, and the owner of a cage, I believe in and follow the "share-the-road". Yes, there are some pompous asses that give ALL cyclists a bad name, and believe the rules or common courtesy doesn't apply to them and they can do whatever the F*** they want, when they want.
But don't throw every cyclist in that just because their jersey is different from yours.

I didn't see anyone in that video doing anything wrong besides the douchebag in the pickup truck.
Every bicyclist that he smoked out was riding on the shoulder, well out of the way.
Guy in the pickup was an idiot, as are pretty much all of the morons that like to "smoke people out" with their diesel pickups.

As for bicycle riders.....don't really annoy me when I'm on the scoot...easy to get around 'em. When I'm in my RAM pickup it's harder to get around them..but hey, the road is for sharing, they eventually get out of the way. It's just someone elses way of enjoying the outdoors, just like when I'm riding.

I've trained for ancompleted two ironman triathlons. Intraining I usually logged at least 100 - 150 miles a week biking but never rodewith more than 2 other cyclists and we usually rode single file. Someone mentioned 5 mph. LOL Maybe going up a extremely steep grade. I averaged about 19 mph on flat ground and could easily hit 45 mph on anice downhill. And I was 250 lbs andslow as hell. The elite cyclists average25 - 30 mph on flat ground.....faster with a tailwind.
While many motorists thinkbikers are jerks, many cyclists think motorists are jerks. I'd had people throw bottles at me as theypass because they had to slow down in a blind curve before they could comearound me. I've had them honk as they pass and I've had them intentionallybuzz me and try to run me off the road. I've also been t-boned by a Cadillac. If you think you are invisible on a motorcycle imagine how invisible youare on a bicycle! At least onmotorcycles people don't intentionally buzz you or honk at you. People assume bicycles are going 5 mph evenwhen you are going 30 mph. Motoristthink because they can go faster than cyclist that give them more ownership ofthe road, it does not.
The bottom line is therewill always be as)sholes in cars, on bicycles and on motorcycles.
Keep in mind, I've been known to ride my bicycle with 9 mm in my jersey. I know several cyclists who do. But this is Alabama and we have a lot of rednecks like me.
ETA I only carried it with me a few times. I got buzzed by someone who thought that was funny. Some cyclists will affix an stiff metal wire to their left handlebar that sticks out about 2 feet. If they got buzzed, the motorist would end up with a nice scratch down the length of their car. I was not so nice to let them off that easy. So after being buzzed I carried my 9 mm and would have emptied the magazine if I got buzzed again. Fortunately I never did. Finally got tired of packing all that extra weight on my ride so stopped carrying. But like I said, many do. If I had a small 32 I might have continued to carry.
