Default New model year announcements effect on older than immediately previous year models...

I couldn't figure out a thread title...

My question is in regards to the 17s...There's quite a bit of talk about major changes for the coming year and I'm wondering how much that will affect the value of say pre rushmore, or pre 2007s...especially if the touring models do get a 110 standard. Do all model years with the 103 see an immediate drop? And do those that are 103 and pre rushmore see an even more drastic drop? What about the value of 88's and 96's...

I don't know alot about bikes, but I know I'm buying a RK, SG, or RG. And I'm not in a hurry, don't want to buy new. Right now rushmore bikes used are not far off from new prices, will they drop like horses if there are huge changes and some of these bikes get an engine upgrade standard?

What happened to values of pre 08, and 09/10 when rushmore came out?

The 09 Touring frame had a slight impact on 08's and earlier resale value, the Rushmore's had an impact, the wet head 110 CVO Road Glides had an impact on earlier model resale just as an improvement in the 17's would, but as with the others it was not a big hit. They all still sell well.

So nothing more than the, "it's one year older than it was" depreciation.

Can't understand why guys are still talking about a "110".
That's out.
Entirely new motor, 107.
The info is popping up on the net now, if you know where to look.
Can't say more here, it will be pulled.
As they say, "if you're taking the flak, you know you're over the target!"

Green light on the leaked info talk though nothing confirmed until, my guess, the dealer show.

Im just hoping Harley dealers will be willing to make a deal on leftover 2015s once the official 2017 lineup is announced. One can dream right?

I like my 88. I'll still like my 88 when they're coming out with 200s. I don't have to keep up with the Jones's.
Eventually the old bikes bottom out, become rare, then start appreciating as they become collectable.
Buy what you want and ignore the newer ones.
My Indy was working on a pristine 95th Anniversary Springer today. I would rather have that than any new bike. It was gorgeous.

New depreciates old. This has been true for the entire history of the Motor Company.

IMO the Evo has about reached the bottom of the market and I expect values to start rising again as more people discover the simplicity, feel and sound of the Evo.

In AZ the pre-Rushmores are at give away prices The Rushmores are a leap ahead. I guess it depends if the new year brings different paint or real improvements.
