The problem with trying to use any intercom with any other helmet is that the microphone tends to be out in the wind, and the wind noise renders it almost useless. There are foam covers, but...
I had been using the SENA SMH10 for about two years, with a full face helmet. Absolutely loved it. Crystal clear sound, my riding buddy and I could just talk to each other like we were sitting on the couch.
Just bought the new SENA 10S, for the longer range, 1 mile, and the built in FM radio. It's just as awesome as the SMH10 was.
The best known brands are SENA, Cardas, and Scala. All great, different models have different features, but you really can't go wrong with any of them.
