Default Do I need the twist grip sensor (Part # 32310-08)?

I'm switching handlebars to the HD reduced reach handlebars. I'm moving the wires internal. The instructions says that twist grip sensor (part # 32310-08) is needed. You all that have did this, did you use the stock sensor or did you switch to the 32310-08? Why? Other than longer wires on the 32310-08 sensor, is there any difference.

Thanks for your feedback.
