Default Value of Older bikes

So if everything we are all reading is true and that the new bikes might be untunable as we all are used to....do you think this will make the value of pre 2017 start to climb?

Doubtful. Valuations are mostly based on demand vs supply. There are a flood of Twinkies out there. The new bikes will likely have strong demand as it will be the latest offering. Thus, reducing the demand for used bikes. Harley-Davidson manufactured more Twin Cams than any bike in history. It will be at least a decade before that glut diminishes. By then the MoCo and aftermarket will have either figured out the new Bubblehead or have moved on to a new motor.

If you look at the Ducatis (for example), very few of their bikes over the past 15 years have held their value. Fewer (if any) have increased.

With probably 2 million+ Harley bikes produced over the last 15 years, I don't see the used bikes increasing in value right now.

Harley can no longer change the EPA tuning but, of course they never could legally. That's why they lost the suit. There is still an aftermarket and they will provide the illegal tuning until the EPA catches up with them. It could be years........or not.
I don't see the decission affecting the value of used bikes.

Only the value of the Streetglide will drop . Because everyone already has one and the trend must die .

Well not only are the dealerships still allowed to tune the bikes just not sport tune them, people are still allowed to buy programmers on their own and self tune the bike so I will say no

Even before the EPA debacle, for the last two years I have been getting hounded by both individuals and dealerships wanting to buy my carbureted Evo.

I keep telling them that this is my last bike. It's that awesome. The only exception would be if it would get run over by a dump truck and smashed to bits.

Hard to beat a good Evo. I have no plans to sell mine & I hope it's the last bike I'll ever own.
