My Dad's Heritage - First Ride
I wanted to share with everyone here a special moment yesterday.
My Dad passed away earlier this year. He left me his '02 Heritage. The bike hasn't ran in four years. For other reasons, he let it sit and never had the desire to get it running. When I bought my Harley last year, I kept bugging my Dad to get his bike running so we could ride together. Unfortunately a sudden illness took my Dad.
I spent this summer diagnosing in my very limited spare time (two year old son won't let me do anything ). Yesterday I finally fixed it and took it on a quick ride around the block.
Words cannot explain how great it felt to finally ride my Dad's bike. I definitely felt his presence.
All that is left is to insure it and take it off non-op status which I'll do this week. A quick oil change, and I'll ride it to my house this weekend!

First off sorry about your loss.
I still have my Dad but lost my Mom a few years ago.
Time makes it easier.
I'm sure taking your Dad's Heritage out brought out some emotions; hopefully good ones.
I imagine one of my Son's will have the same experience some day.
Enjoy the ride and no matter what don't sell it but keep it in the family forever.
