Default Stage one flash question

Question for the forum.

I changed to a screaming eagle ventilator breather and Nightstick slip-on exhaust. Nightstick slip-ons have a solid core pipe, stacked diffuser discs and closed end caps.
I had the dealer flash the bike with a stage one flash after I installed the breather and slip-ons.

Fast forward about a year, I got a great deal on some used fatshotz slip-ons and swapped them for the nightsticks.
Fatshotz are similar but have a perforated core, stacked discs and and an open end cap.

My question, is a stage one specific to a particular setup or is it a generic flash to cover a wide range of breather/pipe options.

The more specific question, do I need to reflash after changing to the open end cap fatshotz mufflers vs the closed cap nightsticks.

Bike runs fine with the new exhaust and actually feels a little cooler from the seat of the pants feel. Oil temps are no different so engine temps probably haven't changed much.

IMO, I don't think you'll gain anything from an additional flash from the dealership. Aftermarkets like the FP3 or PowerVision have the capability to tune for specific components.

Dealer flash is a waste of money getting a still lean tune. The FP3 is a good way to go for the money.

Aftermarket tuner. Should you have the extra cash laying around, the HD SE tuner with a dyno.

Stage 1 with tuners is/are different then the flash.
It's my understanding that these are a "one size fit's all" kinda thing,, they're only allowed to "change" so much with a (Dealer) flash to keep it within EPA standards. aka: generic
Bike runs fine with the new exhaust,,
Oil temps are no different,,
If it ain't broke,, Don't fix it.

Since the dealer download does absolutely nothing for performance, you could switch exhaust all you want and the only difference you will notice is sound.

I did the K&N air filter the SE pipes and the answers 21 cams on my 05 Deuce and the bike sounded better and ran very well . I was thinking the motor needed more gas and did the stage 1 down load for $125 . And it didn't do **** ! With in the first ten miles of leaving the stealer I new I wasted my money .

- Dealer flashes will give you the same lien fuel mixture, get a real tuner so the engine will run better and cooler.. I recommend the Power Vision.
