Do not have one but will be getting one. Been looking into them for a year. So many bad drivers out there I do not want my case being a he-said/she-said matter. Want the evidence I may need to prevail in court.
I was told by a local LEO that only police video can be used to ticket traffic violators, so, if you are looking to catch distracted drivers or asshats that cut you off it is pointless. You can always be a YouTube star though.
I am not going to knock people that have them or want them, but I have no need, use, or want of one. I would rather ride than watch a boring video of riding. Then again, I don't like radios etc. on a bike.
Videos made with helmet cams are good if they are made to provide a first ride review of a motorcycle. When I was looking at bikes I would look for a youtube video someone might have made of the bike I was thinking of buying. I found them helpful, but, you cannot rely too much on them.

That is not true. I am not going to go into a long dissertation as to why as it not true as it is beside the point. 23 years as a criminal attorney. I know a thing or two about the law and what constitutes admissible evidence.
I am not interested in riding around and looking for traffic violators.
My interest in having a video camera is so that when some distracted (texting or talking on the phone), drunk or douche bad driver hits me, I will have the proof I need for my civil suit and to possibly assist in any criminal proceeding. A video of what happens eliminates the "your word versus his word" battle as to what happened.
Imagine you are on your bike when this *** hat runs into you while he is passing the school bus:
No video, the BMW driver will make up some BS how you tried zooming past him and ran into his car and the wall. With video, you show who really caused all the mayhem. Likely a criminal charge for reckless driving and you will win your civil suit.
