I started out by wanting to do group runs - after a few I realized I was happier riding with riding with 2-5 friends - I still do some larger group rides but those I do are long over-night weekend trips - trying to keep large groups together is not easy and the ability level varies greatly
Bingo ! Plus, as has been repeated here, local chapters vary in characteristics. Some would be a fun addition to your riding regimen, others probably not. You gotta try em on for size. No-one posting here will have the answer.

I moved to Vancouver, WA a few years back and work too much to socialize so I haven't really found any Harley or cruiser people for that matter to ride with yet however from my sportbike pack days, I defintiely want to stress, ride your skill level.
We would all rather wait 5 minutes for you to catch up than an hour for the tow truck to show up.
Next spring I'm looking forward to showing up at some of the meetup and HOG rides. I prefer riding with other people (as long as they're not stuptarded)
