New 107 vs 110?

I did both. I wasn't that interested in the Softail S models but when the Dyna Lowrider came out it was just what I wanted.
I put about 2K on it. The suspension, tracking and performance of the 110 was great. The Dyna with the 110 amazingly managed over 50 mpg tank after tank.
Since I ride 30 to 40K/year that is important to me.
I thought that I was done with adding any other bikes but then H-D released the M8. I had a 12 RGC with the 103 and in black denim but traded it in early this year.
The first models my dealer received had a black denim RGS that they added the full stage I to. SE 4.5 inch Street Cannons, SE intake and download.
I got it and did several multi state tours and quickly had just over 5K on it before I garaged it to ride other bikes.
The M8 also rides, tracks and handles great.
The real difference is riding purpose. The M8's are as good as it gets for long distance touring. The Lowrider suspension needs no improvement like Dyna's previously did. So it makes a great daily rider.
For most riders the cruisers with the 110's which is a well proven engine is the way to go. Running a lighter bike through the gears is a real rush.

I have a Slim S and have some limited experience with the M8 SG (about eight hours worth). I hate to compare the two for the reason that every new Harley I've ridden and owned the new motor was tight. It ran better and cooler as the miles increase. My last two new HD's (15RG and 16Sliim S) where no exceptions. Having said this though I always came off the SGM8 feeling that it is faster than my SlimS or atleast the motor felt like it pulled harder but my friend who rides my bike a lot and have also ridden the M8 always says my Slim is faster or that the 110 pulled harder. I have your basic stg1 set up on my Slim with a 2-1 bassani. I have only read one set up similar to my bike and it dynoed 90rwhp and 110rwtq. Haven't seen or read about a similar set up M8(tune, bassani 2-1)I would imagine it will be about the same...waiting for fuel moto to post these M8 stg 1 dyno results.

Thats a great idea. It wont be the same as the M8 107 single cam 4 valves per cylinder new engine im talking about. But it is a great idea if you love your twin cam. Make it last forever and keep on riding. Thats kinda what im wondering tho. How many are going to stick with there twin cams or switch to the new engine? The M8 seems like a great engine. I bought my new 16 Fatboy and planed on keeping it for the long haul. Once they put the new M8 107 in the Softails is when ill have to really think about it.
