Power commander III

Power commander III
Reference my bike:
2008 electra-glide standard. stage 1 kit, true duals, V & H slash cut slip-ons.
Is it ok, or advisable to run bike without the power commander? I've had issues with the perofrmance, ( sluggish start on occasion which smells like too much fuel being dumped into cylinders, and sometimes when cranking cold the rpm jumps to 2000.
She does seem to run better without PC, I'm just concerned about masybe running to lean and having issues later on.
Any opinions?
thanks
Billy

The absolute best solution is to get a dyno tune - regardless the upgrades
Yes..., running something less than a dyno tune will work - sub-optimally
Running a PCIII.., without the feedback of dyno runs - one is shooting in the dark as to the best settings
Will it hurt anything running w/o the PCIII...., or even with it..., poorly tuned - very likely not
You just won't have optimal performance

These guys will install a map in your "tuner" before they ship it, and they're hdforum sponsors.

I unplugged mine on the 07 SG and it was fine. Ultimately I sent it to Fuel Moto and they gave me a credit towards the Power Vision which is a far better option in my view. It comes with a map all set up for your current configuration and you'll see a difference on the first roll of the throttle.
If your having some hard starts like I was try this. When you turn your ignition switch to on with your left hand, immediately hit the start button with your right hand, don't wait even one second for the engine light to go out. Since I've been doing this I've never had another hard cold or hot start.
