Default York plant tour

The wife and I are on our way west through PA, and decided to take a slight detour to York. Haven't been through the tour since like '09, and I have to say it was quite good. Not too crowded....maybe 15 people in the group. The guide was great.

It was fun to where your bike was made.

You know that is a new plant from when you were there last.

Did you do the Steel Toe Tour?

W were back there again in June. Awesome!

We did the steel toe tour, best I've had in a long time. I was in a mfg. job, building high end boats, and I looked at what is being done as far as lean manufacturing. Shook some hands of the assembly people, You'd be surprised how good that feels as a plant worker. We just rode for one and a half days from MI to York in the rain and the bike didn't miss a beat. When the bikes are run up in the test cell, don't worry that engine is almost broke in. CVO's are run up to full throttle. It's cool!

Always a pretty good tour. Get there about once a year to the tour or open house. In fact I've hit all of HD tours available to the public

Actually, didn't realize it wasn't the same plant until we were part way through the tour, lol.

Didn't do the steel toe tour as it was booked....next time.

Nice...while we were on the tour, one of the workers happen to look my way, and I thanked him for building my road king. He looked a little surprised, then nodded and then said, "your welcome."

Yeah that is funny. I was up there in 2009 for the Open House with some guys I ride with. Took the wife in June and made reservations for the Steel Toe Tour. I drove up in the parking lot and said "wow" they have spent some money and given this place a face lift!!!! I missed the memo about them building a new plant. VERY NICE

I'm 165 miles from York HD. Sometime next spring/summer I'd like to ride down on my bike and do the steel toe tour. It would be the longest trip yet for me, and I'm going to need to get a handlebar mount for my phone so I have GPS. I just can't see driving there in my car...just wouldn't be right.

Did that this past summer, but is was 300 miles each way. Great trip with my buddy, great tour.

Started raining sideways as I pulled into the lot. Notice the trees.
