Women Riding Jacket Advice Needed
Now that I got a more civilized bike, 17 RGU, my lovely wife likes riding more than before. I am encouraging her to get a good leather riding jacket.
We shopped at both a Harley dealership and an In Step Leather shop. She liked two of the jackets at the Harley dealership, but thought that they were a bit pricey. We then had lunch and went to In Step. Nothing there that she liked. She apologized that the ones she liked were about four times more expensive.
I told her that I went to the dealership first so that she could see what I thought was very nice and then to the other place so she could see the difference and not feel bad about spending the extra money.
Any thoughts on other jackets that she should consider?
Also, she would buy a used one if we could find one in good condition, preferably from a non-smoker. PM if you have one in your closet that you are trying to sell - Size Medium.
Thanks much
Emil

You are always likely to find a jacket of as good or better quality than at a dealership. Really makes no difference if it is a HD dealership or other you will pay a little more if it is branded with any logo.
The jacket (link below) that my wife wears 90% of the time did come from an HD dealership. At the time I was riding an 03 Anniversary WG and she an across this jacket with the 100 year logo and had to have it. 13 years later, thousands of miles in all kinds of weather and this jacket looks as good as the day we bought it.

With that said this is the only suggestion I will make as to shopping with your wife for a jacket............ Don't do it.
Give here the CC and send her on her way. Past experience has shown me that a woman buying an article of clothing could entail trying on 30-50 different ones at 10-15 different locations. I find it much better to tell her to take the money and go get what she wants, it saves a lot of walking, sitting and waiting for me. Not to mention she will ask my opinion on each like it really matters LOL

Try Ebay. Search Firstgear leather jacket women. They have new and pre-owned.
Here is one example:

I get my jackets on ebay. Harley and other companies blow them out after a year or two. I have several $400 and up jackets from Harley that I paid between 90 and 150 for. People collect, then weed and feed their collections. If she wants a Harley Jacket there are plenty at a great price on ebay. She should go to the dealer and try some on so she knows her "harley" size though.
