Default Worst Accessory

This is the tongue-in-cheek answer to whoever posted the “Favorite Accessory" Thread!

This Thread is about the Worst Accessory that you have purchased and installed (or used) on your bike. We’re not talking about non-functioning Safety Chrome or your Spouse/Ex-Spouse/etc. As truly expensive as either of these can be (particularly the later), they don’t count. Extra points if it’s still on your bike; because you don’t really want to explain to your friends why, after installing it, you removed it.

As for me I have to go with the Harley Oil Pressure Gauge Kit P/N 75133-99 that I had on my 2010 Heritage Softail. A fairly useless source of information while riding, because you can’t see it. However, it more than makes up for this shortcoming, by being truly uncomfortable and unless you spend a lot more money on a cover for the bottom half, it looks awful and then spend some more on braided line to get rid of the cheap black plastic hose that the kit comes with. BTW, although the bike is long gone, I still have the gauge in a box, in my garage . . . . somewhere.

Not really an accessory, but a feature: The ambient air temperature guage on Ultras and others.

A "worst accessory" won't be on my bike. So having said that...
Car parts aka windshield, floorboards, radios, cup holders
Disco lights under the tank lighting up the engine

I feel very lucky that every accessory that I have put on my currant bike was not a waste of money, and still makes me happy every time that I ride

Nothing to do w/a HD!
The absolute worst waste of money was a Rear Air Deflector made for a Gold Wing. It was a piece of plastic w/2 moly bolts that mounted between the passenger back rest and the trunk lid.
Was to keep the back draft off the passenger.
Cost was $120 +/-.
Did absolutely nothing, didn't work at all, was ugly and my cover wouldn't fit after installing it.
Eventually, it went in the trash.
Now, believe it or not, I see one on Ebay with GoldWing emblazoned on it and it's a mere $250.

It's probably the ubiquitous bungee cord. I have some and each is guaranteed to allow whatever you have tied down with one to fall off your bike.
