just a thought but, open the primary to dbl check the charging assembly?
When I did my 121" in evo flht. I ended up buying all new (softtail?) stator and rotor as stock ones were shorting out. figured it must be something about the crankshaft/splines.
good luck

Get the Electrical Diagnostics Manual for your bike (doesn't matter who built the engine) and work through it until the problem is solved.

While you are waiting for it to arrive, test the voltage regulator since that is what the stator is connected to.

You have to upgrade all that with big cubes.

You rebuilt the original 131"?
Did you have this problem with the motor before you rebuilt it?
Bike start OK?
Any battery issues?
Put a volt meter on it, measure, start it, then when warming it up, increase rpms and see if volts climb.
How old is the alternator?

My 126" is making more power than your Jims 131", and I run a stock stator and no charging issues...Look elsewhere...
Fix the cause, don't band aid the effect.

As far as the hi temps, what intake system, who tuned it, and what oil are you running?

Answer these questions and we can dig deeper....

How so?

A bigger motor means a bigger bore diameter and/or a longer stroke. Neither of those things effect the stator, the rotor or the electrical draw once the engine has been started.
