Are parts truly re-branded. Sure filter and spark plugs are not made by Harley but they are specked out. A duplicate NGK is actually different then it's counterpart HD plug in resistance for the spark-control. And their filter is quality above aftermarket clones

 

The new communication devices are just SENA 20s with HD rebranding

 

The thing I'm most impressed with is not the branded toilet seat and accessories, but the can of Oust on top of the tank. That stuff really works, and I don't think you can buy it any longer.

 

If you are a manufacturer of products for Harley, you cannot let anyone else know. It is part of your contract. Corporate is very **** about keeping their sources confidential. Of course, if you figure it out, well that is a different ball game. Most times, small changes are made to differentiate it from the manufacturers own models.

You're right. They also had an unscented Oust that was great. It killed whatever scent you wanted to kill and didn't leave any heavy perfume.

 

Just a guess but I'd imagine, except for their motorcycles, almost everything they sell is made by somebody else and relabeled.

 

Do you mean products or parts? Most M/C, Car, Truck, boat, etc....manufacturers that I know of don't make things like oil filters, spark plugs, lights, batteries, oil, coolant, tires, etc.... I consider this all parts, and it's very common to not make this stuff. Be a rather huge undertaking to set up your own tire factory, or oil filter plant, etc...

As for the infinite "Products" that have the Bar and Shield logo, I doubt HD makes any of it. But what they do make is money. So do the dealers, and good for them for taking advantage of the demand.

There is a store in the Mall Of America that only sells HD clothes and trinkets, the place must be doing okay, it's been there quite a while and the rent in that sprawling mess isn't cheap.
