Harley manufacturers the engine, transmission, frame and the tins in house. Unless I'm mistaken the vast majority of the rest of the bike is outsourced and assembled in their factories. Except for the CVO bikes they also paint themselves.

Harley-branded oil certainly isn't made by Harley. Last I heard, it was made by Citgo (Venzuelan company).

No different than KISS (the band, or brand I should say). You can even buy a KISS casket that you can use as a beer cooler while you are alive and be buried in it when you are dead.

I have a pair of Joe Rocket winter gloves that are the exact same as the Harley gloves. I actually tried on the Harley gloves to find out what size to buy and bought the Joe Rocket gloves online for almost 1/2 the price.

I've mentioned this before, but just because the HD battery is made by Deka doesn't mean they are the same battery with a different label and price. My father-in-law retired from an automotive battery manufacturer (Delco) and they made batteries for many companies. Sears Die-Hard among other well known brands. The batteries were NOT the same battery with a different label. They made them according to the retailer's specs and budget. Some were crap, some were top-notch, even though they came off the same line. The Deka may/may not be the same as the HD battery. The only way to know for sure is to compare the detailed manufacturing specs.

I wish they'd find somebody that makes a set of folding lawn chairs that fit in the tour pack.
