Default Saddlemen luggage questions

Does anyone use any of the Saddlemen luggage? What is your experience with it? Looking specifically at the BR3400EX bag.

Main concern is how the zipper on the main compartment holds up with use. I had a "brand X" bag in a similar style and that zipper gave up after about 5 trips plus being a pain in the **** to strap down.

Thanks!

A biased answer but I myself ( Buster) have had the same BR1800 for about 5 years without incident with the zipper or any other function. Officially we stand behind our products and especially if it is a manufacturers defect. Let me know if I can be of any assistance in helping you decide what the best purchase may be. Thank you.

We have 3 different Saddlemen bags. 2 of the large bags, one upright one more of a duffel style, and one smaller duffel. Sorry I don't remember the model numbers but will look them up if you are interested.

Oldest is probably 7 years old with many trips on it with the others at least 4 or 5 years old. We have not had any issues with any of ours and use them for several long trips every year. Zippers and tie downs are still intact. I did buy their extra set of tie downs and use some soft ties also to give more options to attach the luggage to our bikes. I would recommend them.

I have a backseat bag I bought used. It had been to Alaska from Tulsa. I've used it a lot over the years and really like it. I recommend Saddleman.

I had Saddleman luggage when I had a road King. It was very well made and I did not have any trouble with it. I still have the roll bag and use it for my sleeping bag, sheet and pillow.

I have a Saddlemen S3500 sissy bar bag that I've had for years. It has tens of thousands of miles on it, in cold, heat, and rain. It's still going strong and all of the zippers are intact. My OL also has one, with more miles than mine (I got mine after I saw how awesome hers was), and hers is still going strong as well.

When mine is worn out, I'll get another. Saddlemen makes a good product.

Great info. Exactly what I was looking for. Thanks, guys!

Saddlemen (Buster) what is the widest passenger back rest your mounting system will work with? Mine is about 13" wide. Not a problem if I have to remove it for the bag.

PS - From Behind: Thank you for your service to our country!

I too have the BR3400 bag.. Its a great bag and very well made. A pal of mine bought the Harley back rest bag.. And he was a little pissed his did not come with straps and it does not secure to the back rest as well as the saddlemen does. Harley banged him for an extra 20 for the straps..
You wont be sorry with the Saddlemen!!!....swifty

I also have the 3500 bag with years of use, many miles and through two bikes.

Also on the rack is another Saddlemen bag. Great stuff.

My wife has the BR3400EX bag and it is top notch quality throughout. I just throw it on her seat and use the underseat mount, no backrest and the bag stays put. Tons of space, very solid bag.

I would highly recommend it!
