I currently ride my Dad's 2005 Heritage Classic every so often. I am interested in buying a 2007 Springer Classic. I have never ridden one and was wondering what everyone's opinion of the bike is. I am 6'2 235lbs and would like to put a set of ape hangers on it when I buy it. I was looking at 15 to 16 Inchers. Well, I would appreciate anyone's feedback on this topic. Thanks and safe riding.
Get it. Its the last year for the Springer and just for that fact I would and did do that. The ride is the same as forks (in my opinion) and the looks will be killer(especially with your pits wide open)
I absolutely second ENZOTHEBAKER statement ... if I could afford two bikes I would have the springer classic too. Too many long distance trips with my better half make the Electra-Glide a must have.
My brother has an '05 springer Softail and he says that it beats him to death. He has said that if he had it to do over again that he would buy a Touring bike.
It took a good 800 miles to break the forks in, after that its great. LIke everyone else said get one soon cause they will be no more. The seat is great! Rode 2K last weekend no problem. PLus Harley has never made a more gprgeous bike.
Go for it Ive got an 05 and its great. On a good road I feel the Springer front end is actually a smoother ride then a tube front end, the only thing is if you end hitting a good size pothole you will notice the front end doesn't have the travel a tube front end does. I do a lot of 200-300 mile days and the bike and the bike is great.
Anyhow, Ive ridden and compared my '05 Springer to a fatboy, wideglide and sporty as of late. My Springer is by far the smoothest ride Ive ever rode. If I had the cash I would buy another one. Its an epic Harley icon.........Cant even believe HD is dropping the Springer, One step closer to Hondanizing the whole HD line.
