Milwaukee 8 or Thunderstroke 111

Having test rode the Indians at Sturgis every year since they came out. I was interested. However once the M8 was out and I have 9K on it already it is better than the 111 Indian motor. Pulls every bit as strong, smoother, higher mpg and the lack of close dealers killed the idea to me.

I don't have Polaris' 2016 numbers, but in 2015 they were up in all categories. Their net income was 455 million. Late last year, they signed a contract to supply the Marines with the MRZR ATV's. I don't think it's doom and gloom anytime soon.

I currently have a 09 Crossbones and a 16 Heritage Classic. As of last Friday I have my first indian, a 17 metallic black Chieftain.
I rode the M8 Street Glide S and then the Indian. I chose the Indian for many reasons but a few are..
They came right out of the box with a really good deal @ 2000 off msrp, including rider backrest and clothing I wanted.
1100 shipping and setup compared to HD shops 1400.
1000 more trade than HD woud give on mt Rocket 3 Tour (going to miss the big girl)
The 17 electronics are superior to the FLHX and react faster.
It rode softer over the bumps.
It comes stock with niceties like electric windshield, chrome fork lowers, chrome switchgear, electric locking hard bags, actual tire pressure readouts front and rear, ability to separate seat and make one up without buying another seat.
It rides a lot "smaller" than it is, including slow speed.
It doesnt look like all the other bikes at an event.
The 111 is super smooth with lots of torque but then so did the M8.
The M8 almost sounded like a big VStar or such, not bad but different than the 103 did.
I must say I have bought a ton of bikes from my local HD dealership. This time I did my usual " I will be back at the end of the day, have your best deal ready" like I always do. The new "closer" joined me and my salesman at the table with an offer of full retail and full set up and delivery. I probably may have stuck with Harley because I am such an avid fan but this just completely turned me off. Customer in hand, repeat buyer, tier 1 credit. I look forward to showing them my new Indian.

All these forums have haters and hyperbole from fanboys but mostly they are the same as over here. One must expect to get bias when on either since the ops are mostly owners as well.
I am an equal opportunity rider/buyer.

I see you have a Rocket 3, I used to ride Triumph and still love them. I need to test ride the new bobber.
