Default Stage 1 2015 Heritage

Do I need to have ECM flashed when going to Stage 1 on a 2015 Heritage Softail?

Generally yes, if you get new pipes, mufflers and an air cleaner.

Tho technically the ECM can adjust to it, but that notion is heresy around here.

But whatever you do, DO NOT pay the dealer for a flash, its a complete ripoff.

There are plenty of options that cost roughly the same amount of money, but provide you flexibility in the future.

The ecm flash is basically considered part of the stage 1 upgrade

Basically yes.... several buds I know have only done the HD flash in the last several yrs as they have gotten a LOT better over the last 4-5-6 yrs..
I agree, yrs ago the HD flash was a joke.. not so of late.. BUT still they are nothing like a Good tune...

Even if its spot on, its a waste of money. Not sure why this isnt obvious.

For the same money as dealer flash, you can get at least 1 product that will allow you to make changes in the future, so you wont have to spend that money again.

Even if you dont plan any other changes (beside the fact that plans change), if you sell it, its a nice little feature to sell with the bike.
