in stop and go traffic...anything to put some air across the fins are a godsend!!
I have the WARDS fans and they are great in HOT stop and go stuff......keeps the temp down.
I had a Parade fan and an oil cooler on my cop bike. I don't know if it did any good, you would think they should be on there OEM if HD thought they were beneficial..
I have a friend that has them and he loves them. I personally don't think they are needed but ask me again if I get stuck in traffic on a 90 degree day lol
Here are my thoughts on this - people obsess about it way too much.
How many of you have had an engine failure due to overheating? How hot is too hot? Does anyone have a temperature gauge on their cylinder heads? Does anyone who has installed cooling fans have any data before and after the installation? How about some proof that this really helps to solve a problem that doesn't exist.
There is a thread here somewhere from DK customs on cooling.
Are they trying to sell you something? YES
But they did a lot of testing with different mods and the result in temperature drop.
Seems like a tank lift and an oil cooler or filter relocation may be worth looking into.
If I remember right they claimed an 8 to 15° drop( could have been more for the cooler) for each mod.
I have zero experience with fans so can't speak to that.
