From what I understand HD dealer has to do it with their computer/program. Its simple to do but has to be done by the dealer to the best of my knowledge

If you have a manual, it should be in it. Or Google how to set it up.

His bike is 2015 on any of the bikes since 2007 (I think) that has the smart FOB , the one without the button to activate security it has to be done by dealership with their programmer. I think on the ones before 2007 with the button they could be done by the owner

I didn't know that. Thanks. I've had a 2013 and now a 2015. I know in my 2013 manual, there was a section on how to put in a code. And in the back, there was a "how to" to change it.

Yep you can change your personal code which would be required to input in the bike in order to start the bike if you don't have your FOB, that is what those instructions are talking about. However if you get a new FOB it has to be assigned/programmed to your bike for it to be active. On the 07 (those with out the button in middle of the FOB) it can only be assigned/programmed to the bike by a dealer
