Default Harley alarm siren

Can anyone tell me why my alarm siren beeps every time I sit on my bike and stand it off of the side stand. I always have the key fob with me but it still beeps evert time I get on the bike. The alarm works like it supposed to if I move the bike without the fob around. The alarm also sets when I kill the bike as it supposed to. I have a 2009 FLHTCI

Is this what you mean?
Every so often, usually when I stop for gas and turn the ignition off, the siren will give a warning squeal as if someone without the keyfob is standing the bike up from the jiffy stand. Don't care for it. But from what I've read, it seems to be normal.

what you are experiencing is normal. however, you can put your system into 'chirpless' mode if you want. but if you do that, it will not give you the quick chirp when it's armed either.

to do so:

with fob present, turn ignition switch ON
when the security lamp turns off, turn ignition switch OFF
when the security lamp turns off, but before the turn signals flash twice, immediately turn ignition ON
when the security lamp turns off, immediately turn the ignition OFF
when the secuiryt lamp turns off, but before the turn signals flash twice, turn the ignition switch ON
when the security lamp turns off, immediately turn the ignition switch OFF
when the security lamp turns off, but before the turn signals flash twice, turn the ignition switch ON

lot of on/off/on.... but once you put it into chirpless mode, it should stay until you follow the procedure again to take it out of mode.

Hi Skratch, do the steps that you outlined disable the lights blinking as well or just the "chirp" when arming/disarming?

pretty sure just the chirp. otherwise, there would be no feedback to let you know the alarm set.
