Left home at about noon, 75 degrees and hazy near the southern end of the San Joaquin Valley. 60 miles of nice two lane sweepers mixed with some serious twisties later, I take a break at Greenhorn Summit, 6098 ft, 59 degrees and clear blue skies. Steep downhill twisties to the Kern River Valley, tasty mushroom and Swiss burger and a cold beer at the Shady Lane Bar and Grill in Lake Isabella. More great twisties through the Kern River Canyon, back home by dark, 125 miles door to door.

I failed to mention my oh sh*t moment today. I was turning left, onto a nice twisty road, when the bike slid, first the front tire then the rear. I was doing about. 15 mph, the kickstand scraped twice,. I was able to stay up right, and have no idea what was on the road, I didn't see anything.

Another sunny day with temps in the 50s. I rode over to Galena and along the Mississippi River.

Must be nice! The weather here has totally gone to s***; and they've started sliming the roads with crap that eats aluminum alloy wheels. Probably can't ride again until spring rains ...

Monday, I think, though it depends on the rain forecast, which seems to come and go.
