they sell for more than I paid. I bought most of them dead.
Typical work: clean/adjust carbs, oil/filter, brake pads, rebuild master cylinders/calipers, tires/wheel cylinders, clean switches, fork seals/bushings.
Less common: replace fuel pump(I installed automotive pumps $45), adjust valves, steering bearings, fuel tank dents/paint, relays ($3 from auto parts), diodes (Radioshack), wiring (rat damaged wiring in one of GoldWings), starter etc.
I am a car mechanic, bikes are for fun.

Currently have 2, 72 shovelhead and a 2017 Road king. The last 45 years ownership over 3 months 14 bikes if I remember right and over 30 or so just buying to resell. Only 2 ricers in that mix and they were early 70's.

 

Over 70 Since 1956. 22 still out in the garage.

Why did I git rid of the others? Most were metrics. With the Harley's it was to upgrade like an 11 RG CVO traded in for a 16 RG CVO.
