Default 09 Road King cranks no spark

Hey folks new member here need a bit of help. Battery on my Road King died, took it out charged it up and no cranks. Had it tested bad battery. Replaced the battery and it ran fine for about 3 miles. Died and wouldn't turn over. Have no spark now. Replaced plugs and words appear to be good. Does anyone have any ideas on what could be going on here? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean by "won't turn over"? won't crank? Won't start? Does it have a security system? How did you check for spark, if it won't turn over? Did you accidently leave a wire off, when you did the battery? Assume you can hear the fuel pump charge, when you turn the key on? Need more info to steer you in a direction.

Your stator may have taken a dump on you and is no longer charging the battery as you ride. That's possibly why you only got about 3 miles before the bike died.

If its a new battery, he should have gone further on the charge. At least I would highly suspect so. He may have lots of accessories, drawing, stereo, aux lights ect, but three miles is really low for killing a new battery. Also, is bike "cranking"? don't know, but if it is, then battery not the issue.

OP, how many miles on the bike?

It could be a crank sensor, but that is pure speculation right now, with info at hand

The bike cranks but won't start. Battery reads 12.8 volts. All wires hooked up and no accessories. Can hear the fuel pump. Tested for spark by removing plug grounding to the head and trying to start. When I removed the plug there was fuel on it so I know fuel is getting into the engine. Sorry I left those details out.

Oh and 25k miles on the bike

Will not show spark with plugs removed and grounded to head or anything else..Need a inline tester.. My guess would also be crank shaft sensor. If it was sercurity system wont turn over at all.

What did you mean by "words appear to be good"?

I ment to say wires appear good. Just checked crank sensor... I'm dumb apparently ... it came disconnected some how reconnected charging tonight to make sure it has 12+ volts again and will try her again in the morning appreciate the assistance and will give an update after I try it again.

Hey folks sort for the delay here my phone was lost. But plugged in the crank sensor bike ran great for two days took it to duty left it over night went about 7 miles in the morning and on the interstate it bogged down died and would not restart same symptoms again. Think this still might be that sensor?

take the sensor, and connect an ohm meter to it. should read somewhere around 700-850 Ohms. Take a hairdryer, or heat gun, and put it on the sensor, watching the meter. See if it changes drastically, many times will go to infinity. If it does its the sensor, if not get back and we'll go from there.

how full is the gas tank?

The sensor read 900 ohms before heating then heated it and it went up to 1050 ohms and the gas tank is 1/2 full
