Default Rode Hard, Put Up Wet

We see tons of bikes on the forum and road that are always clean with shiny chrome that are garage kept, never ridden in elements, and always winterized.

While ridding down the dirt road to my house in the rain today, I realized "Man I'm glad I feel fine using the bike for what I bought it for. To ride it like it deserves, whatever condition!"

Here is my bike that gets rode hard and put up wet, literally.
Let's see some dirty pics for a change!

I've got a couple of dirt bikes that I ride if the need arises. My HD's are street bikes not dirt bikes.

You ride, you get dirty - HOWEVER I like my bikes clean, I like my cars clean, I like my home clean. To me it displays pride of ownership. I didn't buy my HD to go off roading BUT it gets dirty, then it gets clean.

Theres no wrong answer here, just different strokes..

Dang, I thought I was bad with my Road Glide. It just doesn't get the love of the Road King but then again, don't have nearly as much invested in the Glide.

Buddy and I were riding yesterday. He lives on a dirt road and rarely cleans his Ultra and it shows. My Road Glide gets a bath when it rains which is when I will usually wipe it down.

Oh He!! to the NO!

If you want to get dirty, buy a dirt bike. Much cheaper and somewhat disposable. Harley's are the Ferraris and Lamborghinis of the bike world. The way you wouldn't do this to a Ferrari you should not do it to a Harley. This is the reason why you see the bikes here shiny and clean- because their owners appreciate them.

I understand that bikes get dirty and wet on occasion. It is the nature of the beast. However, to purposely go out and get dirty? Not for me!

Maybe I keep my bikes and cars/trucks washed and waxed to preserve their worth and show some pride. I ride in all types of weather and open trailer my Harley, but I don't let it stay dirty for weeks at a time either. When I see a street bike that hasn't been washed or waxed forever I don't really consider the owner a macho experienced rider, I just think he is lazy.

My bikes get dirty. It's part of the normal cycle of riding a LOT. Then they get a good bath and detail. Then the cycle starts all over again. Plus, I think my Road Glide is faster when it's sparkly clean.
