Don't Like My Jiffy Stand

First Harley 17 Road Glide Ultra just can seem to get the hang of my Jiffy stand. Do not like the extra play in it, makes the bike lean a little to far left for me. What are my options do they make longer Stands. I have seen some centerstands out there, anyone else having problems with the jiffy stands its been 5 months now cant get the feel for it.

If it's brand new, take it back to the dealer and have him look at it.

IMO, the Jiffy Stand is one of the best features of the big twin, it may take a little getting used to. Its locking ability gives you piece of mind wherever you park.

My 2012 Ultra came with a Harley ride off stand. After touching it down in the curves a few times I pulled it off. If you are aware of this, and ride mostly in flat lands you may like it. When needed it was very convenient.

Yep .. The Jiffy Stand is the best that I've ever used when it comes to a side stand. It is a bit unnerving at first. The scooter moving/settling takes some getting use to. As far as a "center stand" ... I have an EZ-Up and absolutely love it. You'll read pro's and con's regarding it.

I have a kickstand and I've never had any issues with it. I just kick it down and it's always there.

After having several metric cruisers, and now having a road king, I too found it difficult to get used to how the bike rolls a bit forward until the jiffy stand locks. +1 on the EZ-UP center stand, it's pricy but I love it. I can set the stand while still on the bike, and the roll off is handy. If you put a piece of plywood under it you can manually turn the rear wheel, which is handy for cleaning.

It would be a good idea to paint it orange. That will make you feel better.

It will! Plus it keeps some cats away. There's really no downside to a dayglow orange kickstand

take it to the dealer... then they can tell you they all do that

When I got my first HD it bothered me how the bike would roll like it's going to fold up. 100k+ miles later I've grown to appreciate the locking stand and there seems to be little failures. I'd still have it checked by the dealer if you think something is wrong, but don't be surprised when they tell you it's normal.
