WOW, now we can add Brakes to the Oil arguments. What is better, what do you uses and so on. I think we all ride how we ride, we all might know what right and wrong but we ride like we ride. And it is about the ride. Advice most guys don't want any, they ride like they ride. Ride on

I try not to brake at all in oil - dino or synthetic - that stuff is slick.

Since I've decided not to let myself get lazy, I use both brakes every time. That way I can switch to non-linked brakes and ride the way I always do.
I know the back has function. I was only responding to those who said they never use their front.

Rear brake should be applied first, followed by front within second. Also, better to use rear on cornering unless you have new cornering ABS

Default Brakes?

After quite a few years of racing bikes that had no brakes at all i still find myself use my trans to slow or for that matter gear down to speed up but using both front and rear equally makes the most sense to me

Most all of my braking is done in a straight line using both, mostly rear with some front added in. If braking is needed in a curve, throttle off coast. Still needed add some rear brake.

Conventional motorcycle ABS only works when bike is straight. There is newer ABS system that works even when bike is leaning, or cornering.. Harley doesnt offer this system yet.. so unless you have these new system like ducati, there is no ABS when you are in corner. Hence you should be careful not to lock your brake in corner even in ABS equipped harley..Since I’d rather lock my rear than front brake, I mostly use rear when cornering..But if you have linked brake, it will take care of it I guess..

For me it depends on the bike.
On the average bike I use the front more than the back.
If I'm on a bike that's really raked or has a skinny up front I lay off the front a little.
