For the bike, cool action shot, I have one from years ago that's a little fuzzy, still cool to get a picture of yourself in action instead of just static shots.

For the gear, I wear cargo pants most of the time, not sure they're much better than shorts, but at least will stop the bugs, and have side pockets, love me some side pockets. The shoes are at least high tops, some ankle bone protection, I wear combat boots, mostly for the traction at stops, intersections have some slippy spots, and they're also the treads on my reverse gear.

I like that the passenger is wearing jeans, my wife got some burn wearing capri pants on our old bike, she wears jeans all the time now, think they get more risk of burn than the rider with where their legs go.

Been there - Done that! Damn yellow jacket flew up my pants leg!! Got me a few times before I was able to pull over, get off the bike and drop my pants. Must have been quite a site but I just didn't care!!

The only thing that keeps me from wearing shorts when I ride is the heat my bike kicks off. I always seem to get burned

Wear what you want to! Hell I wear flip flops sometimes with my shorts, and sometimes I even wear a cut off Harley shirt, dang!!!

 

I don't care what anyone wears or doesn't wear, on or off the bike. But I guess the old man in me thinks "If it's cold enough for a jacket ain't it cold enough for some pants?".
